February Book Haul

What a welcome sight February is after a dreary long January. Even if we have still had some snow. We also have wonderful blue skies and the sun shining, showing the promise of Spring. There is nothing quite so lovely as to be able to sit outside on a warm sunny day with book in one hand and a cuppa in the other.

As I was gifted some book vouchers for Christmas I have finally chosen the ones I wanted. Along with some for C. We are starting to embrace the idea of Potty Training! So what better way is there to help teach a toddler to do his wee wee’s on potty, than to sit on it reading fun stories about little boy pirates who want to be grown up and use the toilet?

Here is my modest Book Haul, it’s very restrained. I did have to stop myself adding my whole wishlist to the checkout.

1. Still Me – JoJo Moyes

My Summary from the blurb: Lou has moved to New York, leaving her new boyfriend behind in London. There is something going on with her new bosses wife, she knows she’s keeping a secret from him. Lou is unaware she is about to meet someone who will turn her life on it’s head, because Josh will remind her of a man she used to know.

I’m interested to see where this story leads after the last two books. Where will Lou end up next? Who is Josh? What is the wife keeping secret?! Only one way to find out!

2. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – Gail Honeyman

My summary of the blurb: Eleanor Oliphant seems a ‘creature of habit’ but she’s happy nonetheless. Nothing is missing from her scheduled life, except perhaps, everything …

I saw some hype about this book on Twitter and the fact it won the 2017 Costa Book Awards, so I thought I would read the blurb and a couple of reviews and it sounded like something I would like to read.

3. Pirate Pete Potty – Andrea Pinnington

My summary of the blurb: Pirate Pete is on his potty training adventure! Cheer him along by pressing the button at the end of the page.

This book arrived just the other day and we had already been asked to read it four times in one afternoon. I will write up a separate small review on this. As it’s given us some results.
